Loving God, for 125 years you have guided this congregation in all seasons and brought us together to serve as witnesses to your word; Be present with us now as we celebrate the gift of our church family. Make us welcoming to all whom we meet here, and committed to working for peace and justice, in our own community and in the wider world. Guide us in being faithful caretakers of your church as we look to the future with hearts full of hope. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who went about creating circles of friends and taught us to remember those in need. Amen.
A Prayer for the Election of a new Bishop
Holy God, we pray that you help us in our search for a new bishop. Guide the members of our Diocese charged with overseeing and implementing the search with skill and open hearts, and of managing the transition to a new bishop with sensitivity and grace. Inspire worthy servants of your church to stand bravely for election. Send your Holy Spirit upon the delegates who will vote for our next bishop. Support our new bishop every step of the way, and give peace and knowledge of service well done to our retiring bishop, Gene. Give us all patience, wisdom, and that gracious hospitality of soul that allows us to hear your voice and see your face in each other, even when we differ. Through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

A Prayer for the Diocese and Christ Church
God of grace and glory, you have placed your spirit upon us and invite us to walk together in this Diocese and this Church as children of the Light. Renew, refresh and reform us, we pray, as we seek creative and courageous ways to bring your good news to the oppressed, to bind up the broken hearted and to proclaim again the year of your boundless favor towards all people. Knowing that God's power, working in us and through us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine, we ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen
