The first Licensed Plus center in the state, Little Blessings serves 71 children, ranging in age from six weeks to five years old. It has five separate classes, managed by a staff of twenty full time and two part time employees. In addition to teachers and caregivers, there are administrators, a bookkeeper, and a cook.
At its inception in 1992, Little Blessings served 24 children with a staff of seven full time and three part time teachers, one administrator, and one part time cook. Little Blessings has grown in both numbers and quality during the past decade. It serves the greater seacoast area, with families currently residing in over a dozen towns in southern New Hampshire and Maine.
The organization is owned by and housed in Christ Episcopal Church. It is monitored by an Advisory Board, which includes a Chairperson, two staff representatives, two parent representatives, two parishioners, and two community members. The Director of Little Blessings attends Board meetings as a non-voting member.
Childcare services are in great demand in the greater seacoast area. Supply does not meet demand in this field. Little Blessings, with an extensive waiting list, still continues to improve and enhance its program.
